Flutter-bye: Eyedo by Eyeko Eyeliner & Brow Liner Review

I popped into Harvey Nichols on my lunch break earlier this week (handily located just a stone’s throw away from my office) to go on a bit of a make up splurge. I’ve been looking for a new liquid eyeliner since my precious Écriture de Chanel Automatic Liquid Eyeliner gave up the ghost and dried out. I did love the formula from Chanel but I found that it never quite managed to last all day, even with a primer, and I’d have to reapply around 4pm when my eyelids had turned into oil slicks. Nice.

So after perusing the beauty counters at HN, I decided to look at the Eyeko offerings. I haven’t bought any Eyeko products since I was in my teens, back when the price point was a lot lower and their re-brand hadn’t happened yet. Clearly now things have changed – with sleek royal blue packaging and their much-talked about collaboration with Alexa Chung, there were several liquid eyeliners to choose from. I very nearly opted for the ‘skinny’ version, but I was swayed by the Alexa Chung designed Eyedo liquid eyeliner because the nib was the perfect size and the Eyeko counter girl mentioned that the formula even helped condition your lashes. Sold.

I also purchased the Brow Liner. I had semi-permanent brow tattoos done last summer, which are slightly fading now but still give me a good shape to follow when filling my brows in. I have to say – I love the Eyeko Brow Liner, as it’s not too heavy and the formula is really long-lasting. It even claims to be waterproof as well so it really does cling to your brows.

Even after a full day at work, my eyeliner and brow liner was perfectly in tact when I got home. The Eyedo liner was gorgeously carbon black and it was easy to get a good cat eye with the medium shaped nib. I’ll wait to see if the pens do dry out slightly as this is a problem I’ve had with my Chanel and MAC eyeliner pens, but so far I’m really impressed.

Also, special thanks go to Mel, the lady on the counter, as she was so helpful and even gave me a sample of the Eyeko Brow Gel. The formula is wetter than the Benefit Gimme Brow I usually use, so it gives a glossy look to your brows which I think is a great look for summer.

Let me know in the comments if you’ve tried the Eyedo liquid eyeliner, or if there’s any other products you’d recommend?
